Carey Downey, MD

Dr. Downey grew up in Southern Idaho and first moved to Montana to attend MSU, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology. She spent a few years doing microbial research for the NIH in Hamilton, MT prior to attending medical school at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Her residency in Family Medicine was completed at FMRWM in Missoula. During her residency she gained additional training by completed the RHEDI program and the OB track focused on reproductive care and obstetric care respectively. She continues to focus her practice in these areas, along with population health, preventative care, and adult medicine. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, riding horses and spending time in the mountains with her border collie, Calamity Jane. She is beyond excited to be back in Butte (which is hometown to both of her parents) and she looks forward to seeing patients of all ages and stages of life.
